Do I need to make a reservation to visit?

Guests can access our reservation pass by clicking the reservation portal on our visitors page.

Is there an admissions fee to visit the center?

Yes. Members receive 20% off admission.
General admission - $10
Seniors 62+ - $8
Kids 12 & Under - Free

Can I host a private event at the center?

Yes, the center is available for the rental space to host corporate and private events, please contact reservations@blufftongullah for more information.

What holidays does the center close?

Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Juneteenth, International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade (August 23), Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

Do you offer tours for school groups?

To enhance our educational programs, we offer audio guides and written materials. Additionally, sign language interpretation can be arranged upon request for certain events.

Our group is traveling on a charter bus to the museum. Where can the bus drop off our group and park?

You will pull into the drop your group off either in the street parking area in front of the center located on May River Rd, or you can pull into the back parking lot and unload guests there. You will be given the designated parking area for your bus when you arrive.

What to expect during your visit to BGCHC.

When you arrive at the center, you will be greeted by our center’s staff and allowed to explore the interpretive features of the interior of the center that detail the chronological history of Bluffton’s Gullah residents and some of the culture’s most pivotal moments and accomplishments. You will also be invited to have self-guided or docent-led tour through outdoor interpretive features and exhibits of the center.
